Benefits

Remuneration
You will receive a competitive salary and an excellent benefits package - including private medical insurance, income protection scheme, discretionary annual bonus, 38 days’ holiday and contributory pension scheme.

Career Development
You will receive excellent ongoing assessment throughout the training programme designed to ensure you reach your potential. By the end of the two years you’ll be expected to have passed both the IMC and the CFA level 1 examinations. These are necessary to become FSA threshold competent and be considered for any permanent investment manager roles within the company. From there, the key aim will be to identify positions which will meet both your career aspirations and business needs.

Training & Development
As one of our trainee investment managers, you’ll experience a blend of industry-specific courses and study towards the professional qualifications below. Both entail a mix of self-study, tutor-led seminars and study groups.

Investment Management Certificate (IMC)
Undertaken during the first year, the IMC is the initial benchmark qualification for the investments industry. During the course, you will be introduced to concepts as wide ranging as the regulatory environment, financial instruments, markets and portfolio management.

Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA)
Recognised globally as the symbol of the highest standards within the investments industry, the CFA programme will enhance the knowledge and skills you have picked up both on the job and through the IMC. The CFA is run in three distinct stages, and you will go through levels 1 and 2 within two years. These will concentrate on the introduction to asset valuation, accounts and corporate finance, ethics, quants and more advanced portfolio management techniques.
Aside from these two hugely important professional qualifications, on joining, you will be given a list of courses that are available – and it’s up to you to choose which ones you feel are most relevant.
