SWIP strengthens executive team with the appointment of Ramsay Urquhart as Finance Director

05 July 2010

Scottish Widows Investment Partnership (SWIP) has appointed Ramsay Urquhart to the position of Finance Director. Ramsay will be part of the SWIP Executive, reporting directly to SWIP Managing Director Dean Buckley.

Ramsay joins SWIP from Barclays Wealth where he was Head of Investment Operations since September 2006. Prior to this Ramsay spent 14 years at ING, most recently as Global Head of Financial Markets Operations.

Ramsay will lead SWIP’s Finance team and will be responsible for overseeing and implementing all aspects of SWIP’s financial processes, reporting and management information. He will look to build SWIP’s financial capabilities and maximise levels of efficiency to add value for SWIP’s clients.

Dean Buckley, SWIP’s Managing Director, comments:
I am pleased to announce the appointment of Ramsay Urquhart as SWIP’s Finance Director. Ramsay has over 20 years’ experience in Finance and Operational services and his impressive experience and skill-set will be essential within SWIP at a time of huge growth opportunities and change.

“Finance is at the heart of any professional asset management infrastructure and I am confident that Ramsay will challenge the business and play a key role in SWIP’s future growth.”

This allows the Operations, Strategy & Integration team to focus on the back bone of SWIP’s business – ensuring that in this rapidly changing environment SWIP has the strongest and most effective platform. Tony is now Director of Operations, Strategy & Integration. Until Ramsay’s appointment, he has also been acting as interim Finance Director.
