Scottish Widows Investment Partnership (SWIP) has appointed Andrew November as Director of Equities.
As Director of Equities, Andrew will have overall responsibility for the investment philosophy and process, as well as directing the UK equities, International equities and Dealing & Derivatives teams.
Andrew has been part of SWIP’s Executive team since 2003 and was joint chief investment officer for six years. More recently Andrew oversaw the creation of SWIP’s Investment Solutions team.
Until a replacement for Andrew is appointed, he will continue to oversee the Investment Solutions team on an interim basis.
Dean Buckley, SWIP’s Managing Director, comments:
“I am delighted that Andrew is to become SWIP’s Director of Equities. He has been a key figure in SWIP’s development and, in his new role, will be instrumental in pushing forward the development of our equities capabilities. Andrew has more than 20 years’ experience and has an exceptional depth and breadth of fund management knowledge.
“As one of the largest asset managers in the UK, SWIP’s equities desks manage over £57 billion in assets, representing 40% of SWIP’s total funds under management. By ensuring SWIP delivers outstanding investment performance to all our investors, Andrew will play a significant role in our future growth and success.”
SWIP is today also confirming that Simon Wombwell, Director of Sales & Marketing, has resigned from the company. Simon has decided that it is time for him to pursue a fresh challenge and he is currently looking at other opportunities in the market. Simon was a valued member of the SWIP Executive and made a strong contribution to the development of SWIP’s Sales & Marketing team. SWIP wishes him every success for the future.
With immediate effect, John Brett is to become SWIP’s Director of Sales & Marketing. John has been part of the Executive team since joining SWIP in 2003 as Director of Legal & Risk. John has outstanding commercial awareness and understanding of the business and the markets in which SWIP operates. It is exactly this knowledge that makes John the ideal person to ensure the sales, marketing and communications teams support the growth and success of SWIP’s business.
