Peter Cockburn
Peter joined SWIP in 2003 and is the Head of UK Equities. He is responsible for managing a number of SWIP’s UK equity portfolios, including SWIP UK Opportunities, and Scottish Widows UK Select Growth. His research responsibilities include the following sectors: automobiles & parts, chemicals, construction & materials, electronic & electrical equipment, food producers, forestry & paper, general industrials, industrial engineering, industrial metals, investment trusts, mining, oil equipment, services & distribution and support services.
Prior to joining SWIP, Peter spent five years with Edinburgh Fund Managers’ UK equity team, and was appointed investment manager in 2000.
He started his career with KPMG in its commercial audit department, working on behalf of a variety of clients in manufacturing and financial services.
Peter holds an MSc in Investment Analysis from Stirling University, and a BA in Accountancy from Napier University. He is also an associate of the UK Society of Investment Professionals, and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland.
